Christmas msg from Alvin, my boss.

2009 has almost come to an end,
many things happened this year,
mostly things that didnt make me too happy,
but,
all is still good,
God has been and is still good to me.

When I say that God never forgets about me,
I mean it.

Christmas has been good this year,
and lets go for retention.

Looking forward to 2010,
but in the meantime,
lets get ready for Miracle 2010!

Im beginning to understand why God loves these boys so much (:

He came into my cg about 4 years ago.
But we couldnt quite get along cause of our clashingly similar personalities.
He taught us how to play the guitar and challenged us to pray stronger.
He comes from a well to do family and I didnt like his attitude.

But things started to change for the better when I started to know him deeper.
We started sharing and supporting each other in ministry.
We and some other friends tried to help a member stay committed, but wrecked the situation and got chided instead.
I started to like him as a friend,
he was a friend whom I was proud to be with.

Then he left for the army and we got a little far from each other.
But I think it was really God who held the friendship together.
I stayed while he hung on.

Our friendship proved to be strong, cause its foundation is Abba.

4 years later,
he is my cell group leader.
Im proud of him, and I want to be like him.

And yup, he is shaun.

Our first outing as CHRISTINAANDMAVIS was a success!

Work has been really fulfilling but quite a bit stressful most of the time.

I shed some tears at work but hey,
I know Im an easily stressed up person so I know everythings gona be ok
though most of the times I seriously feel like I should walk into my boss’ room and tell him I can take it no more.

Like I said earlier, its been stressful cause of additional job scopes, responsibilites and higher expections.

On a 1day mc because the doctor said I overworked and have low blood pressure which pretty explains why I felt giddy and vomitty this morning.

But Im really thankful to have superb colleagues who not only know and feel what Im going through (which makes me feel that Im not alone), and they are willing to go through the pit of hell with me, like fighting shoulder to shoulder and ever ready to take the arrows for me.

I thought that work will be filled with backstabbing and cover-your-own-backside-and-shut-your-mouth attitude, ok, not totally filled with this kinda gloom and darkness, but you know what they always say in the working world, its a dog-eat-dog world out there.

So this colleague of mine, Caleb (I know we learnt about his great attitude of servanthood, loyalty and humility in church), but this guy in the office reaaally gets on our nerves, in a friendly way.

We like him, but enjoy scolding him.
We scold him when he is at work, we curse him when he is on leave.

And these are what a few of them did when he was away:

ONE year ago we started chatting while travelling from Morning PM to work together.
ONE year ago we started having lunch with other colleagues.
ONE year ago we started sms-ing.

ONE year ago he came over to introduce himself to my cgl.
ONE year ago he met my parents.
ONE year ago he listened to what I had to say.
ONE year ago he was patient with my whirlwind of thoughts.
ONE year ago he wanted to hold my hand.

ONE year ago I was apprehensive.
ONE year ago I was like an acorn, so hard on the outside.
ONE year ago I thought this was a dream, or even a lie.
ONE year ago I didnt believe.

One year ago you decided to step into my life.

ONE year ago.

Yes Ive really been lazy to update.

haha.

So we had Cookie’s Birthday dinner at The Line on 13 Oct 09.

The food filled our stomachs up to our throats up to our tonsils up to our teeth!!

And our long awaited trip!

The travel agent kinda played us out and our half free&easy/half-day-tours were jumbled and our plans were disrupted.

I felt like they snatched our plans and juggled them in the air for about 4months, then left when their buttocks itched,
then left all the plans dropping and splattering all over the floor.

But its okay!

We re-planned and we still accomplished what we set out to do.

1) Mama got to buy her watches.
2) Melvin got to buy his cameras.
3) Papa got to well, spend his money on us.
4) Cookie got to accomplish all his food endeavours.
5) And I still got to go to Disneyland (for the upteenth time)!

We are gona have more events coming up and Im very very very excited to experience them and see results!

PS: cant wait to learn what Friends is to beloved boys and girls of N354!
